With knives the tang is the part of the blade that’s sandwiched in the middle of the handle, giving it strength. With the fish known as the Sailfin Tang, the same could be said about its spine which is sandwiched between both sides of its fillets. It’s unlikely that this is the reason for its name however, as this is the case with most fish… with jellyfish being an obvious exception. This paddle has a handle made out of foraged Tea Tree wood, meaning each one is unique.
